I haven’t had coffee or tea for the past week. It was partly an experiment on how dependent I am on caffeine, partly cuz I ran out of coffee. Realized I can do fine without it (case in point, woke up at 6am without an alarm) but that I just really like coffee’s smell and taste. I bought more and now another synchrotron run is about to begin, so I’m glad caffeine will have an extra little kick now. Already packed my lady grey tea in my beamtime snack bag!
Looking forward to rewatching all of arrested development before season 4 comes out. When I’m not tearing my hair out over an experiment, it’s nice to throw on noise-canceling headphones and plow through several episodes. See previous post about parks & rec.

I must be in grad school when one of the highlights of my evening is installing the newest version of software for solving crystal structures from powder diffraction data. I won’t even be trying to use it for another month, but just knowing I have it feels good. Thank goodness my bf is nearly as big of a nerd as I am, otherwise I don’t know how he’d put up with me.
